Singer-songwriter Emma Salokoski is known for her clear voice, emotional interpretations and musical versatility. She sings jazz, bossa nova, and Finnish folk songs, and her voice has resonated in theatres, jazz clubs, rock festivals and with symphony orchestras as a soloist. Now, she is joined by guitarist Jarmo Saari and his unique, multi-layered and richly coloured sonic world. 

Salokoski has received numerous accolades, including the Emma Award for Female Artist of the Year. She has performed with the UMO Jazz Orchestra and several symphony orchestras, and she leads her own rhythm music choir, Emma Salokoski Voices. Her artistic work also extends into dance, visual arts and musical theatre. 

Jarmo Saari is one of Finland’s most distinctive guitarists – a composer, producer, and performer who has collaborated with many of the top names in Finnish music. Though his career began in jazz, his expression spans a broad spectrum: he composes for film, theatre, and dance, creates audiovisual artworks and performs with his ensemble Jarmo Saari Republic. 

Their joint album Viileässä virrassa, released in spring 2023, is a creation by these two respected artists. The record features new compositions, bold arrangements and beloved classics that come to life in the hands of this duo.
