Ulf Wakenius is a Swedish world-class jazz guitarist extraordinaire whose skills have garnered acclaim worldwide. His music has received recognition from both audiences and esteemed jazz musicians. Wakenius’s career includes many record-breaking moments including a chair in the Oscar Peterson Quartet, successful and long-standing collaborations with legendary bassists Niels-Henning Örsted Pedersen and Ray Brown, placements on the US jazz charts, and a Grammy nomination. 

Ulf Wakenius’s music always features splendid rhythmic feel and an exceptional lyrical sensitivity in the melodies. Oscar Peterson has publicly described Ulf as one of the world’s best contemporary guitarists, and many of today’s most respected jazz guitarists are fans of Ulf, including Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, John Scofield, and Mike Stern. 

Wakenius has also performed and recorded with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, Michel Legrand, Monica Zetterlund, and many others.
