At 19:00 at Alandica, Nina Mya Trio takes the stage with the program “Jazz Meets Gospel.” Nina Mya is an award-winning Finnish jazz singer who tastefully blends jazz, soul, and gospel in her music. Joining her on stage are pianist Henri Mäntylä and saxophonist Joonatan Rautio, who bring a jazzy touch to the gospel interpretations through improvisation.
At 20:30, the esteemed Ålandic Whatclub, featuring guest soloists Antti Sarpila (FI) and Hampus Adami (SE), will close the evening at Alandica. Whatclub was nominated for the Nordic Council Music Prize in 2023, drawing inspiration from the “gypsy swing” or “jazz manouche” style created by Django Reinhardt in Paris between the world wars. feat. Antti Sarpila is an award-winning and internationally recognized clarinet master, sought after as a soloist on jazz stages around the world. Hampus Adami is once again a rising star in the Swedish jazz scene, and we will hear much more about his achievements!
